Hello, hello, hello! So, according to how you voted today we will write about our favorite food or dish. This is the information you need to include:
  • the ingredients it has,
  • when you eat it (special occasions, holidays, always, etc.),
  • why you love it,
  • the first time you ate it / the last time you ate it (if you remember)
You can include anything else you consider relevant. Remember to post a picture, and to comment here and on 3 classmates' posts.

It is very difficult for me to choose my favorite food, because I love all of them and because I go through periods where I really like something and then I stop and like something else. For example, there was a winter when I only ate tangerines as fruit, because I really like them.

I think that one of my current favorites is ceviche. Ceviche is a very popular dish from where I come from, and it reminds me of my family and childhood. It is a dish made of diced raw fish that is 'cooked' in citrus juice - usually lime juice, but some people use lemon or add orange juice to the mix. This also has chopped onions, salt, cilantro and chili pepper.

This is Peruvian ceviche

You are supposed to eat it cold and fresh, to avoid food poisoning. Also, try to eat it from safe places, like restaurants or do it at home, because it is very easy to spoil. In Iquique, we usually eat ceviche with a potato salad made from potatoes and mayo, and sometimes rice; in Perú, it is served as a starter dish, and served with sweet potato and cancha, which is roasted corn, and sometimes it has other seafood.

I have been eating ceviche once a week since February 2019, when I was in Arica. I haven't stopped since then, because I love it so much. There is never a good or bad time to eat ceviche :)
