Post 2: Why did you choose this study program?
Dear students, today we will write about our study program ("su carrera"). The information you need to include is:
- Your dream jobs when you were a child
- Other options that you had at the moment of applying to university
- What made you decide in the end
- Your experience at university until now
- The kind of job you would like to have
Here is my story with my study program:
When I was a child I wanted to be a supermarket cashier. Really. Of course, my family didn't approve of that, so I knew that I really wanted to study at Universidad de Chile but I was not sure about which study program. I thought about History, Anthropology, and even Engineering! I was so confused in my last year at school that I decided to study Bachillerato. That was one of the best decisions I made, because I learnt a lot during that process. In Bachillerato I discovered that I was very good in the humanities, and not very good at sciences and maths, and that the thing that really called my attention was the study of languages. I decided to study English Linguistics and Literature because then I would study linguistics, which I love, and I would also learn English, which is always good. In the end it was also a very good decision - I was a good student because I loved everything we were learning, and I always wanted to know more. My classmates were a good group, we always worked together, and I still remember them very fondly. It was a great experience overall.
The job I have now is very good. I love being a teacher, and I always imagined me doing this when I graduated. Now, I want to apply to a Doctorate to learn more about education, so that I can contribute to the country by doing workshops with school students.
What about you?

This is really funny, cause when i was a child, i wanted to be a supermarket cashier too , i always think it's a really funny think (but in the reality its not hahah) i think i like that 'cause in a birthday my parents gave me a toy who are a little cashier machine, and it was beautiful! and not only that, the toy has little miniature of fruits and vegetables! and some boxes of cereal and cans of peas! <3
ReplyDeleteExcellent! I'd never met someone who also wanted to be a cashier. Same story with me: a friend had that toy, and I loved it. The good thing is I can still become a supermarket cashier, so my dream is still alive.
